Welcome to the Armfield Farm Stingray website.
**********Please be patient ... we are still updating our site for 2012**********
The Armfield Farm Stingrays are a community swim team comprised largely of Armfield Farm community swimmers ages 5 to 18. We welcome all levels of swimming ability, and encourage any child who can maneuver in some fashion across one length of the pool come out and give the team a try. Our skilled and talented coaching staff will ensure that all swimmers on the team have the appropriate instruction to succeed. The Stingrays do accept swimmers from other neighborhoods, providing that the prospective swimmer does not have a community team in their own neighborhood. Our mission is to promote the sport of swimming as a healthy lifetime activity; provide a quality summer experience for team participants and their families; teach and promote good sportsmanship and team spirit; as well as, teach and encourage proper swimming technique in a safe group setting.
In addition to daily practices and swim meets, there are a myriad of social activities the team sponsors to provide fun and team spirit for the children and their families. Some of the activities the children have come to expect and love are Friday night team pasta dinners, fun meets, movie day, the aquathon, a trip to Splash Down, Kings Dominion, pep rallies and t-shirt making parties. The season culminates with an awards dinner and party that all the families enjoy. All members are encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.
We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well-rounded competitive swim team. We look forward to another successful year. Go Stingrays!
